India, July 19 -- Tech firm Astronomer confirmed on Friday that its CEO, Andy Byron, has been placed on leave after he was caught on camera embracing an employee in a Jumbotron video at a Coldplay concert.
The company's co-founder and Chief Product Officer, Pete DeJoy, will serve as the interim CEO in his absence.
Sharing its decision on LinkedIn, Astronomer wrote: "Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy is currently serving as interim CEO given Andy Byron has been placed on leave."
In another statement, the New York-based company said: "Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability."
