Guwahati/IBNS, June 3 -- The flood situation in Assam has further worsened with over five lakh people being affected so far in the northeastern state of India, media reports said.
More than 5.35 lakh people have been affected in over 20 districts across the state since last Friday.
The situation has worsened with the districts suffering from overflowing rivers that caused the villages to get submerged with water.
The relief centres are overwhelmed and the scenario looks grim as more rain is predicted in several parts.
An orange alert has been issued in four districts- Dhubri, South Salmara Mankachar, Goalpara and Kokrajhar on Tuesday.
The death toll stands at 11 with two more people missing.
