Chennai, March 16 -- Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman has been admitted to Chennai's Apollo Hospital after feeling unwell following his return from London, media reports said.

According to his spokesperson, Rahman sought medical attention last night after experiencing discomfort, reported NDTV.

Doctors said his condition was caused by dehydration, which was aggravated by fasting for Ramzan.

Last year, Rahman made headlines when he and his wife, Saira Banu, announced their divorce after 29 years of marriage.

The couple, who have three children-son AR Ameen and daughters Khatija and Raheema-shared the news through their lawyers.
