Amravati, April 15 -- In a strategic move to attract major IT investments, the Andhra Pradesh government has allotted 21.16 acres of land in Visakhapatnam to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for a token price of just 99 paisa, media reports said.

The proposal is expected to be approved at the cabinet meeting scheduled for April 15, according to a Moneycontrol report.

The land allotment forms part of the state's broader push to transform Vizag into a major technology hub.

Following that meeting, sustained discussions between TCS and the state government took place over the subsequent months, culminating in Monday's cabinet-level clearance.
