India, May 4 -- West Bengal Governor C. V. Ananda Bose has sent a special report to the Union Home Ministry, where he has recommended the deployment of central armed forces in border regions of Murshidabad, where violence during a protest over anti-Waqf bill left three people dead, media reports said.

During the violence, a large number of houses and shops were torched, and many fled the region amid escalating tension in Murshidabad.

After his visit to the district last month, Bose had described the situation in Murshidabad as "bizarre" and "barbaric".

Speaking to India Today after the visit, the Governor had said he would raise the matter with the Centre and assured the bereaved family of full support.
