India, May 9 -- Air sirens went off in Chandigarh city in the north Indian city of Punjab, indicating a possible aerial threat on Friday, a day after Indian Armed forces neutralised drones and missiles shot from Pakistan, targeting multiple cities in India.

SSP UT Chandigarh alerted people in Chandigarh and wrote on X: "An Air warning has been received from Air force station of possible attack."

"Sirens are being sounded," the tweet said.

The official advised people to stay indoors and away from balconies.

Two weeks after the attack took place in the popular tourist destination in Jammu and Kashmir, India launched Operation Sindoor, targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
