Montreal, Dec. 6 -- Air Canada's inaugural direct flight from Toronto to Rio de Janeiro landed Friday morning, marking the launch of a new seasonal route connecting Canada to Brazil's iconic seaside city.
The service will operate three times a week through March 2026.
A ceremony at Toronto Pearson International Airport celebrated the launch of the route, which Air Canada says reflects growing demand for travel between the two countries.
"With its unparalleled beauty and vibrant energy, Rio is already one of the main gateways for Canadian visitors to Brazil," said Marcelo Freixo, president of Embratur.
