Bengaluru/IBNS, Feb. 11 -- AI giant Anthropic's expansion into India has hit a roadblock after a local software company filed a court complaint against it over the use of the name, TechCrunch reported.

The complaint, filed at a commercial court in Karnataka, claims that the company has been using the name 'Anthropic' since 2017.

According to the local firm, the entry of the global tech giant into the Indian market has caused confusion among customers.

The company is seeking recognition of its prior use and has also demanded $110,000 in damages.

The court has issued notices and suit summons to Anthropic, citing a January 20 court order, TechCrunch reported.
