Ahmedabad, June 15 -- The body of former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, who was among the 241 people killed in the Ahmedabad Air India crash, has been identified with the help of a DNA test, media reports said.

The report, confirming Rupani's identity, came in at 11:10 a.m. on Sunday, NDTV reported.

His mortal remains will be taken to Rajkot in a chartered plane, the report added.

The plane crashed just 32 seconds after takeoff from Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport around 1:38 pm on June 12, CCTV footage from the airport showed.

As the aircraft lost control and caught fire, it crashed into a building within the campus of BJ Medical College in the Meghaninagar area.
