India, Sept. 1 -- Over 600 people died, and more than 1,000 others were injured after a magnitude 6.0 earthquake hit Kunar province in Afghanistan, a region that was hit by a flash flood last week.
The Taliban government has put the total number of deaths due to the quake in Kunar at 622, reported BBC. The fresh 10 bodies were recovered from Nangarhar.
The quake has left 1500 people injured.
The details about the incident are still not known, and the complete death toll will be clear as time progresses.
As per the U.S. Geological Survey website, hit the area at 23:47 local time.
The quake struck at a depth of 8kms.
