New Delhi, Aug. 7 -- Adani Power Ltd. is set to develop a 2,400 MW ultra-supercritical thermal power plant at Pirpainti village in Bihar's Bhagalpur district with an investment of up to $3 billion. The project will supply 2,274 MW of net power capacity to state-run utilities in Bihar.
The company has received a Letter of Intent from Bihar State Power Generation Company Ltd. to supply the power to North Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd. and South Bihar Power Distribution Company Ltd. from the upcoming facility.
The first unit is expected to be commissioned within 48 months of the appointed date, with the final unit to be operational within 60 months.
