New Delhi, Sept. 5 -- Aadhaar authentication usage surged in August 2025, with over 221 crore transactions executed, exceeding both the previous month and the same period last year, according to data released by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

The figure reflects a 10.3% jump over August 2024, highlighting not only Aadhaar's growing role in everyday services but also the broader expansion of India's digital economy.

Officials said the numbers underscore how Aadhaar-based authentication continues to serve as a key facilitator - from enabling efficient welfare delivery to helping citizens voluntarily access services provided by government agencies and private firms.
