Mumbai, April 20 -- A 16-year-old boy with a history of criminal cases was detained on Saturday after he vandalised a government bus with a sword in broad daylight in Mumbai's Bhandup area, according to media reports.

The incident, caught on camera, showed him screaming and violently damaging the bus on Tank Road around 3:10 pm.

In a fit of rage, he blocked a Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) bus, threatened the driver at swordpoint, and verbally abused him.

A nearby water tanker and an auto-rickshaw also had their windshields broken.

The boy was taken into custody and sent to a juvenile remand home.
