Ujjain/Khandwa, Oct. 2 -- At least 13 people, including 10 children, lost their lives in two separate accidents during the immersion of Goddess Durga idols in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday.

Rescue operations are still underway, with one child reported missing.

In the first incident, a tractor-trolley carrying devotees in Ingoria, near Ujjain, plunged into the Chambal River after a 12-year-old boy allegedly switched on the ignition by mistake.

The vehicle, packed with children, lurched forward and broke through a railing before falling into the river.
