Mumbai/IBNS, July 3 -- A Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) worker has justified his assault on a shopkeeper, named Babulal Khimji Chaudhary, for not speaking Marathi saying "it was his attitude that led us to slap him".
Patil, who had gone to Thane's Kashimira Police Station where the accused were summoned, said he was ready to go to jail for Marathi.
In a video which went viral on social media, some of the workers- identified as belonging to the MNS- were seen thrashing the 48-year-old shopkeeper, who struggled to respond to the onslaughts.
When the MNS workers asked the shopkeeper which state he was working in, the shopkeeper responded, "Maharashtra".
