New Delhi/IBNS, Dec. 1 -- The Congress on Monday found itself at the centre of an unexpected row after party MP Renuka Chowdhury arrived at Parliament accompanied by a puppy.
The real controversy erupted when the Rajya Sabha MP compared the animal to lawmakers inside the House, remarking that "those who bite are inside the Parliament" - a comment the BJP said insulted MPs and the institution itself.
Chowdhury came to attend the Winter Session with the puppy in tow, though she soon sent it back home in her car.
Her unusual arrival prompted questions about parliamentary protocol.
Unfazed by the criticism, the Congress leader defended her actions, explaining that she had rescued the puppy moments earlier.
