India, Aug. 24 -- The father of 28-year-old Nikki Bhati, who died after her husband and in-laws allegedly set her on fire over a Rs. 36-lakh dowry demand in Greater Noida, has demanded that the accused should be shot dead in an encounter.

He also said that their house should be razed as punishment for the gruesome crime.

Disturbing videos have surfaced from Greater Noida showing the woman, Nikki, being beaten by her husband and in-laws, and then engulfed in flames as she stumbled down a staircase.

Nikki's father told NDTV that she never discussed much about her life with them. "She did not want me to worry, so she tried her best to make the marriage work. But they are killers."
