Patna/IBNS, May 16 -- Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, courted controversy on Thursday after he met students at a hostel in Bihar's Darbhanga, despite not being granted permission by the police for the same.
The state government said he was not granted permission for a meeting at the hostel, and hence, a couple of cases were filed against him.
Responding to the blame, Gandhi said he has 30-32 such cases against him and he regards them as "medals".
The police had allegedly stopped Gandhi's car from going to the event, but he walked to the hostel and addressed the students as part of Congress's "Shiksha Nyay Samvad" programme. With assembly elections in Bihar scheduled at the end of this year, the Congress has alleged...
