Washington/IBNS, March 31 -- An Indian origin tech CEO has claimed to be shot twice near his hotel in San Francisco, the United States in the wee hours on Sunday, media reports said.

In a long X post, Deep Prasad said the incident occurred at around 3:30-4:00 am.

Prasad claimed he was being chased by the assailants to the hotel.

'The city is dangerous'

Prasad, who is the CEO of GenMat, slammed the San Francisco Police Department over its response to the incident.

The techie said police classified the incident as a "use of fireworks case with zero investigation". He called the city "dangerous" and said he had never experienced a similar incident in 30 years.

The CEO claimed shots sounded like "handgun firing" and a "glock".
