New Delhi/IBNS, Dec. 29 -- Former Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman Lalit Modi on Monday apologised to the Indian government after a video showing him referring to himself and fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya as the "biggest fugitives of India" triggered widespread outrage on social media, media reports said.

Taking to X, Modi said his remarks were misconstrued and insisted that he holds the Indian government in high regard.
