Lucknow/IBNS, Jan. 1 -- A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader from Uttar Pradesh has launched a sharp attack on Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan after his IPL franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), signed Bangladeshi fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman amid reports of attacks on Hindus and minorities in neighbouring Bangladesh.
Former BJP MLA Sangeet Som termed Khan a "traitor" after KKR bought Rahman for Rs 9.2 crore ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League.
Som further warned that Bangladeshi cricketers would not be allowed to step out of airports if they tour India.
The remarks drew further attention after spiritual leader Devkinandan Thakur also appealed to the KKR management to exclude Rahman from the team.
