India, Feb. 21 -- Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has requested Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin to reconsider his decision to oppose the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 rising above politics.

Pradhan has requested Stalin to "not politicise education".

The Education Minister has written a long letter to Stalin appealing to the CM of the southern state to backtrack from his stance.

Addressing Tamil Nadu's opposition to the three-language formula, Pradhan wrote in the letter, "The Hon'ble Prime Minister during his visit to Chennai on 26th May, 2022 had said 'Tamil language is eternal and Tamil culture is global. The Government is fully committed to popularising Tamil language and culture'."
