Bengaluru/IBNS, March 17 -- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal has passed a controversial remark on Kannada actress Ranya Rao who is under arrest for alleged gold smuggling, media reports said.

Yatnal also claimed he had full knowledge of Ranya's relationships and how she brought the gold.

The BJP lawmaker has also threatened to "expose everything" in the assembly.

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) arrested the actress at Kempegowda International Airport on March 3 upon her arrival from Dubai, seizing gold bars worth Rs.12.56 crore.

According to sources, she attempted to smuggle the gold by wearing a substantial portion and concealing the rest in her clothing.
