New Delhi/IBNS, Feb. 8 -- Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has accepted the "people's mandate" and hoped the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would meet people's expectations after his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was voted out of power in Delhi on Saturday.
The BJP returned to power in Delhi, which went to assembly elections on February 5, after 27 years when the national capital was ruled by Congress and later AAP.
As per the trends of the Delhi poll results, the BJP is leading in 47 seats paving way for its return to power after 27 years.
The AAP, which had won 62 out of 70 seats, is lagging behind with only 23.
Apart from Kejriwal, former Delhi Deputy CM and top AAP leader Manish Sisodia was defeated in Jangpura.
