India, Nov. 14 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday framed the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) massive win in Bihar as a stepping stone for a similar performance in neighbouring West Bengal, where Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress currently rules.

"The river Ganga flows to Bengal via Bihar. And the victory in Bihar, like the river, has paved the way for our victory in Bengal," Modi said in his hour-long address to party workers at BJP headquarters in Delhi.

Modi lauded the party's karyakartas for their role in the triumph, saying, "Your hopes are my pledge and your dreams are my inspiration. For the BJP, the party workers are its strength."
