India, Oct. 20 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday reiterated his government's mission to end Naxalism in the country, heaping praise on the country's security forces for leading the task of making India free from Naxal-Maoist terrorism.

The PM made the remark during his customary Diwali celebrations with the Armed Forces.

Modi, who has always celebrated his Diwali with the Armed Forces since he became the PM, spent Diwali this year with the Navy personnel onboard INS Vikrant off the coast of Goa and Karwar (Karnataka).

The central government is pursuing a comprehensive mission to make the nation free from Naxalism by combining firm security action with inclusive development.
