India, Jan. 10 -- UK MP and Shadow Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs Priti Patel has described the recent spike in violence against Hindus in Bangladesh as "deeply concerning and worrying".
In a letter to UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, Patel cited reports indicating that at least six Hindus were killed in Bangladesh over an 18-day period. "The reports of increasing religious violence and persecution in Bangladesh are deeply concerning and worrying," she wrote, adding that "this level of persecution and violence is unacceptable".
