India, July 17 -- The US Embassy in New Delhi has warned Indian nationals that they could face revocation of their American visas if they commit serious crimes in the country.
The advisory was issued days after police bodycam footage of an Indian woman allegedly shoplifting goods worth around $1,300 from a Target store in Illinois went viral.
"Committing assault, theft, or burglary in the United States won't just cause you legal issues - it could lead to your visa being revoked and make you ineligible for future U.S. visas. The United States values law and order and expects foreign visitors to follow all U.S. laws," US Embassy in India said in a post on X.
