New York/IBNS, Oct. 7 -- India has ripped apart Pakistan at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) saying its hostile neighbour "bombs its own people" to illustrate the level of atrocities the South Asian country is steeped into.

Speaking during the Open Debate on Women, Peace and Security, India's Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, said Pakistan "conducts systematic genocide".

India's response came after Counsellor Saima Saleen, part of the Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the UN, said the Kashmiri women have been "for decades of occupation have endured sexual violence deployed as a weapon of war", CNN News 18 reported.
