India, May 24 -- Social media platform X suffered a major outage this evening, leaving thousands of users unable to access the platform through its website as well as app.

The platform showed an error message, "Something went wrong. Try reloading."

According to outage monitoring platform Downdetector, user reports began to spike sharply after 6 PM IST, with more than 2,000 complaints logged in minutes. Prior to the outage, activity had remained largely stable throughout the day.

"User reports indicate possible problems at X (Twitter)," said DownDetector in a message.
