India, Feb. 15 -- The Tamil Nadu government has notified the new online gaming rules, which effectively bar all minors (under the age of 18) from playing online real-money games.

In an official gazette notification dated February 12, the government said that the new rules will come into effect immediately, leaving online real money gaming platforms scrambling to comply with new norms.

This comes just days after local authorities floated the Tamil Nadu Online Gaming Authority (Real Money Games) Regulations, 2025, which restricted real money online games between midnight and 5 AM. No logins will be permitted during these hours.
