India, July 18 -- Tata Electronics and German engineering giant Robert Bosch GmbH have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together in the electronics and semiconductor sectors.

The pact will focus on semiconductor chip packaging and manufacturing at Tata Electronics' planned facilities in Assam and Gujarat. While the Assam unit will handle assembly and testing, the Gujarat unit will operate as a foundry.

The collaboration also includes plans to explore opportunities in electronic manufacturing services, especially in vehicle electronics.
