India, June 9 -- Shein and its partner Reliance Retail are reportedly planning to expand their Indian manufacturing network and start overseas sales of India-made Shein-branded clothes within six to 12 months.

A Reuters report said that Shein is looking to increase the number of Indian suppliers to 1,000, from the current count of 150.

The report further said that currently Shein sells its offering through 7,000 Chinese suppliers to over 150 countries, and the US is one of their biggest markets.

The move comes amid the tariff concerns imposed by the US on China. Earlier, the US tariffs on low-value e-commerce packages from China were imported duty free, Reuters reported.
