Reliance Jio Loses 20 Lakh Subscribers In Punjab, Haryana Amid Farmer Protest

India, Feb. 19 -- After incidents of Reliance Jio 4G towers being vandalised in Punjab last year, data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) for December 2020 shows that Jio lost close to 20 Lakh subscribers in Punjab and Haryana circles, amid the on-going farmer protest.
According to TRAI, in Punjab, Reliance Jio had about 1.25 Cr subscribers by the end of December, falling from 1.4 Cr as of November 2020. Similarly, in Haryana, Reliance Jio saw a fall in wireless subscribers numbers to 89 lakh in December 2020 from 94.49 Lakh in November 2020.
