India, Feb. 19 -- ChatGPT parent OpenAI will open new offices in Mumbai and Bengaluru later this year as part of its push to deepen its presence in India.

The company made the announcement at the 'India AI Impact Summit 2026' in New Delhi, where it also launched a new initiative called 'OpenAI for India'. The new offices will add to its existing presence in New Delhi and are aimed at working closely with local partners and customers.

OpenAI said India now has more than 10 Cr weekly ChatGPT users, including students, developers and businesses.
