India, March 13 -- Shireesh Joshi has stepped down from his role of chief business officer of the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) after a three-and-half year stint at the ecommerce network.

As per his LinkedIn profile, Joshi quit the government-backed network last month. He was roped in as CBO and president of network expansion at ONDC in 2021.

Joshi didn't immediately respond to Inc42's queries on the development, which was first reported by BW Marketing World.

During his innings at ONDC, Joshi led the government's efforts to promote local businesses and foster a decentralised, open ecommerce model, led by a not-profit company.
