India, July 16 -- The Karnataka government is reportedly planning to launch a dedicated AI Mission in tandem with the Centre-led IndiaAI Mission.

An ET report, citing Karnataka's minister of electronics, information technology and biotechnology Priyank Kharge, said that with the adoption of GenAI in masses, there is a need to regulate the use of AI and build a framework.

Kharge added that currently the state is contemplating on including the new policy as part of the upcoming Karnataka IT policy 2025-30 to develop a separate framework for AI. The state plans to unveil its new IT policy in November during the Bengaluru Tech Summit.
