India, Sept. 18 -- The Centre has selected eight new entities to develop homegrown foundational large language models (LLMs) under the IndiaAI Mission.
Tech Mahindra, Fractal Analytics, Avataar AI, Zeinteiq Aitech Innovations, Genloop Intelligence, NeuroDX (Intellihealth), Shodh AI, and IIT Bombay's BharatGen consortium are the eight players who have been selected, IT minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said at the curtain raiser event for AI Impact Summit 2026.
IIT Bombay is said to be working on a trillion-parameter model, backed by financial support of INR 988.6 Cr from the Mission.
Earlier, three startups were selected in the first round of IndiaAI Mission to build AI models - Sarvam AI, Gnani.ai, and Gan AI.
