India, Feb. 17 -- India is set to attract more than $200 Bn in investments towards artificial intelligence (AI) over the next two years, MeitY minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced on Tuesday.
Speaking at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, Vaishnaw announced that the union government will be placing orders for 20,000 GPUs soon to strengthen the country's AI infrastructure. The move is aimed at building large-scale compute capacity in India and supporting startups, researchers and enterprises developing AI models and applications.
On the investment front, he said that the scale of capital coming into India's AI ecosystem reflects growing global confidence in the country's technology capabilities and digital infrastructure.
