India, Feb. 16 -- Amid its bid to double down on its India presence, US-based AI giant Anthropic has inaugurated its first office in the country in Bengaluru.
The company said India is now the second-largest market for its AI assistant Claude, with nearly 50% of local usage driven by computer and mathematical tasks related to application development and software deployment.
Additionally, Anthropic said that educational and instructional tasks make up 12% of Claude's use in India, including by non-profit organisations Pratham and Central Square Foundation. Overall, Claude is being deployed in critical sectors like judiciary, agriculture and healthcare, especially for underserved communities.
