Manipur, March 29 -- March 27, was World Theatre Day 2020. World Theatre Day was initiated in 1961 by the International Theatre Institute (ITI). It is celebrated annually on the March 27 by theatre community across the globe. The first World Theatre Day Message was written by Jean Cocteau in 1962.

Since March 27, 1962, the opening day of the 1962 "Theatre of Nations" season in Paris, World Theatre Day has been celebrated by ITI Centres and then later continued throughout the world.
