IMPHAL, April 19 -- The strong wind of yesterday destroyed a poultry farm (unit of Avian house) covering an area of 45 by 270 feet at Okshu, Khamral Imphal west today, killing around 500 chickens in the farm.
Addressing media persons who visited the farm after the thunderstorm, owner of the farm, Chongtham Drubatara Khaba informed that the incident happened around 9 in the morning but the locals numbering around 100 came to extend help in shifting the chickens which prevent from more casualties.
He further said that he took loans from SBI through asset back loans in 2016 and invested a total amount of 17 lakhs for constructing the farm house holding a capacity of 6000 chickens and for the machineries in the farm.
