UKHRUL, Aug. 15 -- Ukhrul along with the rest of India will celebrate the 73rd Independence Day on August 15 at Bakshi Ground, Hungpung, Ukhrul.
Due to absence of proper ground, preparing the slushy and muddy ground for the auspicious day has always been a challenge. In the past many years, the parade contingents, especially the schools contingent are compelled to stand for many hours and exhibit their parade in the muddy ground.
