Manipur, Nov. 19 -- The Union Tourism Ministry has announced various measures to minimize the use of the single use plastic (SUP) and create awareness among stakeholders to make tourist places in the country plastic free, official sources said.
The ministry has decided to start awareness campaign on eradication of SUP among tourists and visitors at iconic places, a PIB release stated. It stated that the ministry plans to organise cleanliness drives such as collection of plastic waste and its proper disposal at various important tourist destinations and educational institutes with the help of local public, volunteers, students and faculty.
