KANGPOKPI, March 7 -- S. Gelbung village is situated in the interior southern part of the state approximately 10 kilometres from the international border (Myanmar) and 70 kms away from Churachandpur district headquarters via Sangaikot sub-divisional headquarters with a population of 250 comprising of 45 households.

The village is far away from modern civilization owing to the non-availability of motorable road since the establishment of the village decades ago. The villagers depend mainly on agricultural and livestock produce and the nearest motorable road from the village is Twidam village that too is not an all-weathered road.
