Manipur, April 11 -- The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has come down heavily on the state government's exercise to open markets without keeping security protocols to prevent the coronavirus spread.

MPCC vice-president Kh Ratankumar, in a release, said the government has been irresponsible in handling crowds at market places on Saturday and completely exposing everyone to COVID-19 infection.

Demanding constitution of an inquiry commission into the matter, the MPCC said that there was a sudden rush of crowds at market places without maintain social distancing and this scenario has upset many people who are deeply concerned and worried about the spread of the pandemic.
