Manipur, Dec. 7 -- The Confederation of Meghalaya Social Organisations (CoMSO) has decided to move the Supreme Court if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led government at the Centre forcefully implements the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB).

"We will file a case in the Supreme Court requesting it to do away with CAB," CoMSO leader Robertjune Kharjahrin told reporters, after a meeting held in Shillong on Saturday.

Reposing faith on the apex court to protect the tribal rights he said, "The Supreme Court stands for justice while political parties stand for vote bank politics and political interest and sometimes forget the minority interest."
