Manipur, Aug. 17 -- The Maichon Primary School building located at Maichon Village falls under Lungchong Meiphai Tehsil, Ukhrul District, has been lying in dilapidated conditions. The school structure which is standing with wooden support from only one side is likely to collapse anytime.
Maichon Village is situated about 9km away from Lungchong Meiphai Block and 57 km from Imphal; and it has about 110 household and has a population of 529 of which 267 are males while 262 are females as per the Population Census 2011. There is only one government primary school with classes being held up to standard III.
