IMPHAL, April 22 -- Manipuree Chanura Leishem Marup (Macha Leima) today celebrated its 50 years of existence by observing the Golden Jubillee of the organisation at Lamyanba Shanglen today.
Editor of Macha Leima magazine, Haobam Seityabati said the women of today need to follow the roles and responsibilities taken by the traditional Manipuri women. The cultural norms, ideologies and their thinking need to be pursued and nurtured, she said. Besides following the traditional lifestyles, they also need to acquire full education, she added.
Macha Leima has been relentlessly pursuing goals under these ideals and it will continue to do so, she said.
She further said that the organisation was created 50 years back from today, on April 21, 1969....
