Manipur, Sept. 22 -- In late 19th and early to mid 20th century the majority of deaths across the world were due to infectious or communicable diseases such as pneumonia, diarrhea, and TB etc. However, human deaths in late 20th and early 21st century are largely due to the so-called lifestyle diseases or non-communicable diseases (NCDs). According to WHO, 41 million people die globally every year from lifestyle diseases, accounting for nearly 71% of all deaths globally.
